Jacksonville Bold was founded by friends, James Mabe and Taylor Foote to give Jacksonville, Florida it's place in competitive gaming. Jacksonville has been known as The Bold City of the South since 1968 when Jacksonville and Duval County consolidated into a single governmental unit, making Jacksonville the largest city by land area in the United States, thus giving Jacksonville Bold its name.

James, who typically goes by his tag, Cloudy, originally formed a gaming team in 2009 using the tag iFTW and created a clan of "Its So" players such as "Its So Cloudy" who went on to compete in various Game Battles for Modern Warfare 2 and continued on through Modern Warfare 3.

"Competitive gaming has been a part of my life since I could remember. I partnered with YouTube through Maker Studios in 2011 making various videos, mostly gaming clips and I always loved the thought of forming an elite team but the gaming scene never really came to my area as I would of hoped." -James

​

In October of 2012, James left his clan to compete on a national level winning two MLG Divisions and numerous other local tournaments before returning to his roots. 

​

Fast forward to 2023, James brought the thought of BOLD to Foote and they immediately began working. 

​

"As we continue building our team of players and content creators we will be playing in various tournaments, practicing, learning and growing as a team and as a brand. We are looking forward to learning the ins and outs of the gaming community here both locally and globally and we're excited to bring a new era of gaming to the community."

BOLD is currently building a Call of Duty and League of Legends teams.
